Self-pay Treatment (Laser) Flow
STEP 01
Medical Questionnaire
We will carefully collect information regarding the frequency and volume of your snoring, sleeping positions (whether it worsens when lying on your back), daytime sleepiness, morning headaches, nighttime waking, and observations from family members. We also inquire about alcohol consumption, sleep medication, smoking, and nasal symptoms (congestion/allergies).
Your medical history (cardiopulmonary or throat diseases, past surgeries) and current medications (especially photosensitizing drugs) are thoroughly reviewed to determine if you are a suitable candidate for Dual Deep Thermia.
STEP 02
Examination & Evaluation
The doctor will examine your oral cavity and pharynx (soft palate thickness, uvula length, airway narrowing, and Mallampati classification) while at rest and during phonation (making an “ah” sound). We also check for tongue indentations (signs of macroglossia), jaw recession, neck circumference, and BMI. Nasal passages are checked for septal deviation, polyps, or post-nasal drip.
Based on these evaluations, we determine treatment suitability and the estimated number of sessions required to achieve noticeable results.
STEP 03
Consultation & Consent
We will provide a detailed explanation of the laser treatment, the required number of sessions, precautions, and costs.
Once you agree and complete the payment, we will proceed with the first laser session.
STEP 04
Laser Treatment (1st Session)
First, you will rinse with mouthwash to maintain oral hygiene. A surface anesthetic spray is applied, and we wait about one minute for the effect to take hold.
We begin with low-power Nd:YAG (1,064 nm) laser application. This supplementary step warms the base of the tongue and deep pharyngeal tissues, providing a tightening effect from the deeper layers (you may feel a slight warmth).
Next, the Er:YAG laser is precisely applied to specific areas, including the soft palate, uvula, and both sides of the tongue.
Most patients feel only a slight tingling sensation and no significant pain. The total laser session takes approximately 15–20 minutes.
STEP 05
Laser Treatment (Subsequent Sessions)
Additional sessions are performed at intervals of approximately 2 to 3 weeks.
The laser output is adjusted based on the observed effects during each visit.
Typically, 5 to 6 sessions constitute one full course of treatment.
STEP 06
Evaluation & Follow-up
After completing one course, we evaluate the results. If the improvement is insufficient, additional sessions may be recommended.
Many patients typically require around two courses for optimal results.
